I am a Shinogi Sake Cup. I'll make your sake sparkle like a gem. But drinking too much of it will lead to mayhem.
Curator's Notes
Each soft groove of this sake cup was carved by hand with the aid of a diamond rotary cutter. While running your fingers over the texture, you can almost sense the motion of the blade scooping into the surface to create each facet. Afterwards, the piece is polished on the interior for a smooth shiny surface and buffed on the exterior for a contrasting matte effect. The time intensive process is felt in the texture as you bring the cup to your lips. The blueish smoke-hued glass catches light and refracts like a precious gem. A matching pitcher is available .
